Swine flu- update November 2009:  Please do not come to the practice if you have symptoms of swine flu, for advice and supplies of antiviral treatment please contact the flu service:  0800 1513100 , log on to http://www.direct.gov.uk/pandemicflu , or call the practice by phone. If you have already contacted the swine flu line, and are not getting better, or feeling worse, then please contact our receptionists and ask to speak to a doctor urgently, we will contact you back that day to assist.

Delivery of the first batch of 500 swine flu vaccines have arrived, and we hope to have more soon. We will be vaccinating the highest risk patients in the first instance, and also our staff to minimise any disruption to the surgery throughout this pandemic. We will be sending invitations to all those eligible very soon via post or text messaging. Please ensure we have the correct contact details for you, including an up to date mobile number. If you receive an invitation, then please contact the receptionists, and they will book you into a special clinic as soon as possible. If you feel that you should have been sent an invitation and haven’t, then please contact the receptionists with your concern, and this will be passed on to a member of the medical team who will decide if you need the vaccine.

Outside Surgery Hours

If you feel it very likely you will need to see an emergency doctor out of surgery hours, please telephone 0845-121-0209 and you will be put through to BrisDoc (Bristol South Doctors On Call).

This is a co-operative of doctors from GP surgeries in the South of Bristol, including Bedminster Family Practice,  who provide an emergency service (telephone advice and, when necessary, face-to-face consultations or home visits) from 6.30pm – 8.00am on weekdays and during the whole weekend.  BriSDoc is based at the Walk-in Centre, in Knowle unless your problem is one that you think can be dealt with by a nurse.
